Students and employees can download MS Office free of charge

The latest version of Microsoft Office can be installed on up to five devices free of charge.

Masaryk University has concluded an agreement with Microsoft. Under the Enrollment for Education Solutions program, students and employees can install Microsoft Office programs on their private computers, tablets or smart phones.

The latest version of Microsoft Office can be installed on up to five devices free of charge. The same applies to equipment owned and used by the University; this his, however, ensured by the technicians. “The license covers the Office Professional Plus package for Windows computers, the Office package for Mac computers, and also Office for Apple iOS and for Windows Phone and Android smart phones," specified Břetislav Regner from the MU Institute of Computer Science.

“We expect that there will be a great interest in installing the programs. Office applications are used almost by everyone and I believe there will be many who will be happy to take the opportunity of getting a legal license free of charge. However, licenses granted to employees and students are valid only for the duration of employment or study," Regner adds. The term of the agreement is until the end of 2015 but the University expects to extend it.

An Office365 account must be activated to install applications on private devices. This can be done in the Information System of Masaryk University, where you can find all the instructions for installing Office on various platforms.
